Hello, and Happy 2025, I hope you are well!
This month I have been recording my first book with Pink Flamingo Productions which has been an absolute blast! Not only is it my first with this Production House, it’s also my first in the paranormal romance genre
, which is really exciting as I love a good paranormal romance. This also means that I am now the proud owner of a pseudonym. That’s right, this series gets spicy!
I have also been getting myself organised for the year ahead. Something I probably should have done at the end of last year, but better late than never I say. To do this I have been using the Potential Planner Notion template and so far I think it’s been an absolute game changer. I know we’re only one month in, but I can already see definite improvements to my productivity and I am excited to see where I’m at in a years time.
I have managed to make a good start this year in working towards my goals, but there is definite room for improvement. I am still full of cold (I’ve been this way since November and I’m so fed up it’s unreal), so when I’ve finally managed to shift it, I’ll be able to start auditioning again properly. The aim is 3 auditions/reach outs a week, but that feels a bit low, so I should probably say 5.
I have been really bad with the gym since November as well, I wonder why, so this week I’ve restarted my programme and I will be going 3 times a week. I’d like to run a half marathon this year again, so I will be getting a run in there too. I don’t think I’ll be doing that until October though, so I don’t need to worry about that too much at the moment.
This month I have focused on sticking to the plan. You hear everyone say it, but I’m trying to actually do it. And this is where I feel like my Notion template has really helped me, because I’ve planned everything out on there. What is my end goal? And then worked backwards and I know that if I just get my daily tasks ticked off, I will make progress. I can’t not. So it really helps with keeping me focused and organised.
Upcoming month
I saw a short of Mel Robbins talking about a positivity shield the other day and it’s something that has really resonated with me. So I want to take that into February. I’m going to look at everything with a positive attitude and just really take a moment to appreciate the small things.
I’m feeling great at the moment and I know that’s because I’m making things happen. From the new booth build that we’ve started, to the small start on redecorating our kitchen and to the changes I’m making in my work day, I feel like I’m taking control of my life and moving it forward. So I want to keep that going in February.
How am I growing?
I’ve been listening to The Global Actor Podcast with Elise Arsenault, which I highly recommend. I love the way Elise looks at life and I find her attitude and approach to things really motivational. So I will be continuing with that.
I also really want to do some more training this year, so I will be researching various courses in the upcoming month. I can’t decide which would be more beneficial at the moment, working on my acting and character portrayals or marketing, which is something I know nothing about!
Habits
One of the joys of owning a dog are the daily walks. I have a 5 month old Bordoodle (although if I hadn’t seen his mum and the rest of the littler I would not believe it myself, I can’t see any Poodle in him at all!), so he needs a 25 minute walk twice a day and it’s been great to get out in nature and just slow down for a minute. It has also been helping me hit 10,000 steps a day consistently, which is fantastic as I usually only hit that when I’m at my muggle job. So thank you Theo!
What are my priorities this month?
The priorities for this month are getting healthy! I need to get rid of this cold, I can’t even remember what healthy feels like anymore!
To do this I will be:
Sleeping 7 to 8 hours per night
Drinking 2 litres of water per day
Hitting the gym 3 days a week
And making sure I get my macronutrients in
Simple right? How could I possible fail?
I’m sure I’ll think of something.
Anyway that is all from me. I shall love you and leave you and see you next time!
